 Archaeological Museum : |
The museum has been functioning since 1964 in the abandoned convent of St. Francis of Assisi and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The collection consists of Brahmanical sculptures hero-stones and sati stones of the early and late medieval periods, portraits, coins and currency, revenue and court fee stamps, wooden and bronze sculptures and armoury of the Portuguese period.

| Museum of Goa Daman & Diu : |
The Museum of Goa concentrates on archaeological and archival material. Consequently the sculpture collection displays antiquities from the various Hindu dynasties that once ruled Goa. Also on view are important inscriptions and manuscripts, coins and textiles. The furniture, art objects, especially ivory statues, pertain to Christian-Portuguese influences.

| Institute Menezes Braganza : |
This is an institute founded in 1871 originally called the Institute Vasco da Gama. It was a scientific/historical institute renamed after Menezes Braganza, an eminent Goan freedom fighter.
It has an interesting collection of historical artifacts including the famous" Inquisition table" said to be the on which the council of the Inquisition' s proceedings were conducted when deciding the "auto da fe". It also houses the Central Library, founded in 1832, the oldest public library in India. It has a rich collection of historical books from the collections of the various religious orders that were banned in 1750's .
